SO-November is sort of a dreary month and I thought it would be nice to do a bright & fun tutorial. Nice change from the creepy & spooky nails that Halloween brings. A pretty, flowery manicure is perfect to liven things up :) The colors are pretty much up to you! You can just copy the steps but change things up to match any occasion or outfit. Formal dance, Birthday Party, or even a wedding! Here is the look- Cute, right?

Here are the steps-

-Start by using the brush of your favorite Migi Nail color to paint a solid background on each nail. Let the polish dry for 5-10 minutes before you start your design!

-Next, use a second color and draw 2-3 dots on your nails using the designer tip.

-Using a third color, draw 5-6 slightly larger dots around the ones you made in the previous step. These will be the petals of the flowers. You can make them round, as shown in the photo, or pointed by moving the tip in an outward direction when applying the polish.

-And finally, using a fourth color and the designer tip, create a few scattered leaves around each flower. Voila! Cute, right? I also recommend using a clear top coat to seal in your design. Make sure the polish is dry before applying the top coat, and let it dry when you are completely finished so your hard work doesn't chip or smudge!!

Halloween Nail Design!

Last week, I challenged our Facebook page fans & subscribers to send in any Halloween themed nail design using their Migi nail art. I have many greats submissions both emailed in and posted on FB- It was a tough choice but this is the one I liked the most!

Thanks to Dina for this winning design! The Glitter Gold solid background really makes those Jack-o-Lanterns pop! I love the different expression on each pumpkin, too :)

To get this look: Begin with using the brush to paint a solid coat of Glitter Gold on each nail. Let it dry! Then, take any shade of green (this dark shade looks great!) and, using the brush end again, paint a French Manicure style tip on the end of each nail. After that dries, use the designer tip end of your orange matte Migi Nail Art and draw circles on each nail right on top of the green French tip- this is the pumpkin!

After the pumpkins dry, again take the green used for the tip and with the designer tip this time, draw a stem and some curly vines on top on each pumpkin. You can even make it look like they are all attached by making the vines go all the way to the edge of your nail, and "connecting" on the adjacent nail! Finally, take a black Migi Nail Art pen and draw spooky or smiley faces on each pumpkin with the designer tip. You are done! Perfect pumpkin-y nails, just in time for Halloween! Be sure to finish off the design with a top coat of clear polish to make all your hard work last :)

Halloween Design!

Wooo! Yet another amazing design sent in from our Migi Nail Art Facebook page. Our friend Kellie posted this a few days ago, and I knew it was worthy of a blog tutorial post =)

Simple and spooky. Black and white nails that will go with any outfit or costume! My favorite feature of this design is that the ghosts are smiling!

To get this look- Use your Migi Nail Art to paint a solid black background. Let it dry- Take a white nail polish pen and use the designer tip to create tear drop shapes- 1-3 depending on your nail size. Then, make arms coming out from both sides. When that has dried, again take your black and use the tip to make ghost faces. You can mimic this designs with wide eyes and smiles, or change up the expression and make something more scary! This design would work with any color combinations. Purple background with yellow ghosts, navy ghosts on a pink background, anything! We also have a great new item- Glow in the Dark pens for only 7.99. This look would be upgraded by going over the ghosts with Glow polish. It goes on clear, and glows bright when the lights are out! Perfect for Trick-or-Treating or a Halloween gathering.

Our Facebook friend Kellie submitted this awesome nail design, just in time for Halloween! Personally, I try to stay as far away from these creepy crawlies as possible... but I am so in love with this spider design- I had to share!

To get this look, paint your nails a solid orange with the brush end of your Migi Nail Art. Use your black designer tip to paint the webs in the corner of your nails. Then, choose any colors you would like to make the spiders!

Use the designer tip to make circles for the bodies, and 4 lines on each side for the legs.

Farm Animal Nail Design

Hi everyone! I have another great design sent in to us from our friend on facebook, Leah. She used our Migi Nail Art nail polish brush and designer tip to draw these funky, and very realistic chickens! How fun and unique is that? I love to see fans send in their designs. Nail art is really a great way to show your personality. Our fine point designer pens allows you to go beyond the typical French Tip, and enables you to go into detail on a very small canvas. An intricate design such as this one would not be possible with the traditional nail polish brush.

Fun Animal Nail Design

Check out this great Migi Nail Art design sent to us by another one of our Facebook fans, Clara. It's a panda bear!

How do I get this look?

-Paint your nail green (or any fun, bright color) using the brush side of your Migi Nail Art pen

Let it dry! Wait a few minutes...

-Use the designer tip of your white polish to draw two circles on your nail- a smaller one on top and a larger one under it, but making sure they touch a little. This forms the head and body of your panda bear!

Let it dry!

-Using the designer tip of your black polish, create arms, legs, ears and eyes. Small circles for the ears and eyes (squeeze lightly on the bottle so only a small amount of polish comes out). Make elongated ovals for the arms and legs.

Let it dry!

-Last step, again using the designer tip, use the white to make small dots in the eyes and paws to give your panda a realistic look.

Once it dries, you have the finished look! If you would like to add "accessories", this is the time to do it. In the example, Clara chose to put a piece of bamboo in the panda's hands. You could also add a sun, pond, or anything!

Hi fans! Just wanted to pass along some great tips and tricks to keep in mind while using your Migi Nail Art designer pens!

-Make sure you always shake your pen well prior to use

-When opening your pen always hold it upright to avoid spilling

-While holding upright, twist the top off for your base-coat brush

-Pull the top off for your designer tip

-Always squeeze, never press with the tip

-Always clean the tips before putting your pens away

-Replace cap slowly and carefully

Using these methods will make your tips last longer, allow for more accurate designs, and ensures you get the best possible use out of your Migi Nail Art products!

Did my last post leave you squirming to know how to create those fabulous designs? Here is a step-by-step tutorial given to me by our fan and artist, Melissa.

Zebra Stripes using Migi Nail Art

1. Buff the nails and paint a base coat to have the polish stay on longer.

Tip- Paint white on all of your nails to make the color pop.

2. Paint 3/4 of your nail with yellow, using the brush of a Migi polish.

---Wait 5 minutes--- Drying time is key!

3. Paint the rest of the nail with pink (so that they overlap and created an orange in the middle).

Tip- Paint thin coat of glitter polish (now available by Migi Nail Art!)

---Wait 5 minutes--- I know, it's hard.. but it's important!

4. Now, the trick to zebra print is to do overlapping, but not touching, squiggly lines at an angle. Use the Migi Nail Art fine design tip!

Tip- It helps to draw a triangle first at the corner of the nail and go from there!

Example- On the thumb, draw a triangle (almost a wishbone shape) on the bottom left corner, and then draw a line on the right top corner.

5. Continue to make lines that flow in the same direction. It sort of resembles a river. It may help to keep a picture of zebra print in front of you.

6. After all lines have been drawn, wait about 10 minutes to put on a topcoat.

Voila!

Leopard Spots using Migi Nail Art

1. Again, buff the nails and paint a base coat to have the polish stay on longer.

Tip- Paint white on all of your nails to make the color pop.

2. Paint 3/4 of your nail with yellow, using the brush of a Migi polish.

---Wait 5 minutes--- Let them dry!

3. Paint the rest of the nail with lime green, so the colors overlap and fade together.

Tip- Again, this is when you would apply clear glitter polish!

4. For the spots, painting a white dot first helps the color pop. 4-6 depending on nail size. Use the Migi Nail Art designer tip for this part!

---Wait 5 minutes---

5. Paint a hot pint dot over your white dots.

6. Around each dot you want to make 2-3 lines with the black nail art pen around them.
Do NOT connect the lines!

7. Any empty spaces you want to just fill in with random SMALL black lines. Again, do NOT connect them to the leopard spots!

---Wait 5 minutes---

8. When the polish is dry, paint a clear top coat to seal in all your hard work!

For our first post we'd like to show you some photos from the recent Migi photo shoot. In the past we've always done all of our nail photography in-house with our own cameras. We would't to try a more professional look though, and the results were impressive. Here are a few of our favorites.
